Anonymous One-Time Broadcast Using Non-interactive Dining Cryptographer Nets with Applications to Voting

چکیده
All voting protocols proposed so far, with the exception of a few, have the property that the privacy of the ballot is only computational. In this paper we outline a new and conceptually simple approach allowing us to construct a protocol in which the privacy of the ballot is unconditional. Our basic idea is to modify the protocol of Fujioka, Okamoto and Ohta[10], which uses blind signatures so that the voter can obtain a valid ballot. However, instead of using a MIX net, we use a new broadcast protocol for anonymously publishing the vote, a non-interactive variation of the Dining Cryptographer Net.

Anonymous Broadcast Messages
The Dining Cryptographer network (or DC-net) is a privacy preserving communication protocol devised by David Chaum for anonymous message publication. A very attractive feature of DC-nets is the strength of its security, which is inherent in the protocol and is not dependent on other schemes, like encryption. Unfortunately the DC-net protocol has a level of complexity that causes it to suffer fr...
متن کاملDining Cryptographers’ Wiki
This paper introduces an implementation of a closed group distributed anonymous wiki based on a Dining Cryptographer (DC) network. We argue that such a wiki application particularly suits the properties of a DC network, e.g., performance is less important, and broadcast communication is needed by default.
متن کاملA Non-interactive Shuffle with Pairing Based Verifiability
A shuffle is a permutation and re-encryption of a set of ciphertexts. Shuffles are for instance used in mix-nets for anonymous broadcast and voting. One way to make a shuffle verifiable is to give a zero-knowledge proof of correctness. All currently known practical zero-knowledge proofs for correctness of a shuffle rely on interaction. We give the first efficient non-interactive zeroknowledge p...
متن کاملDining Cryptographers Revisited
Dining cryptographers networks (or DC-nets) are a privacypreserving primitive devised by Chaum for anonymous message publication. A very attractive feature of the basic DC-net is its non-interactivity. Subsequent to key establishment, players may publish their messages in a single broadcast round, with no player-to-player communication. This feature is not possible in other privacy-preserving t...
متن کاملA 2-Round Anonymous Veto Protocol
The dining cryptographers network (or DC-net) is a seminal technique devised by Chaum to solve the dining cryptographers problem — namely, how to send a boolean-OR bit anonymously from a group of participants. In this paper, we investigate the weaknesses of DC-nets, study alternative methods and propose a new way to tackle this problem. Our protocol, Anonymous Veto Network (or AV-net), overcome...
